With season one of his hit CNN docu-series United Shades of America in the books, Kamau is back on the road doing the stand-up comedy that got him here in the first place. Kamau's first hour long comedy special, Semi-Prominent Negro (directed by Morgan Spurlock), debuted in the spring to rave reviews, getting a grade of "B+" in Entertainment Weekly and an "A" in The Onion's A.V. Club. The A.V. Club said, "W. Kamau Bell isn’t going to stay just semi-prominent for much longer."
