A Little Bit of Big News

As you read this, it is being announced to the press that I will have a six episode run of a late night comedy show on The FX Network. I will write it, produce it, and host it. And it will be executive produced by none other than Chris Rock.

Yes, THAT Chris Rock.

You can read about it here in Laughspin Magazine.

I head to New York City today to go to the upfronts where the networks announce their upcoming schedules. No, I’ve never been to anything like this before. Yes, this is a huuuuuuge deal. I’m guessing it will be like the talk show from The Hunger Games, “Hello, my name is Kamau. I come from District 14, San Francisco. We make progressive politics, gay people, burritos the size of your head, and medical marijuana.”

Anyway, things are pretty surreal right now and sure to get more so. I’m gonna work hard to make a good show. And I’ll need your help to do it.

Thank you for all you interest and support.

    Hey,
Paul Stein of Comedy Central Stage helped a bunch on your one-man show, and you give him zero credit. That’s a pretty chicken shit thing to do. How about giving the guy some credit. Karma is a bitch, and it will always come back to bite you in the ass, brotha.

Hey Kamau! Very excited for you. Proud that you are getting this. Best of luck. May good things and good people continue to come your way. Lynne

Roger, what do you mean by “zero credit”? This was not meant to be a list of everyone who helped me on my solo show. Is that what you thought it was meant to be? My mom was also not listed here, I think she deserves at least as much credit as Paul. Paul did help me on my show, and we haven’t worked together since 2010.

So many people have helped me throughout my career I can’t possibly name them all. Also, if you are a friend of Paul’s I would assume that Paul would not want you to reach out to me this way. And why you would feel the need to be hostile to me I have no idea. Be a better friend to Paul than this.

Dude, you're still using IE6? WTF? Seriously, get with the times. Either upgrade to IE7 (or 8), or switch to something that doesn't suck, like Firefox.
