This episode is a SUPA-SIZED episode all about FIIIIIIISHBONE!!! (That’s how you have to say it. You’ll hear me demonstrate it several times over the course of this podcast.)
This is an EPIC episode for FNGTAC. I don’t know when we’ll do another one like this. It took weeeeeeeeeeeeeks and without our new producer Alex Thornton, it wouldn’t have happened at ALLLLLLLLLLL.
We probably put too much in here, but I had no idea when – if ever – I would get a chance to be a part of something like this again. So if it overwhelms you, listen to it in parts. It’s overstuffed, eager, at times repetitive, but I believe it’s worth it. It was definitely made with love.
It features some thoughts on the band from us, from their fans, from Chris Metzler – co-director of the new documentary on the band called Everyday Sunshine, excerpts of the film itself, and finally you’ll hear the band themsleves, founding members, Norwood Fisher and Angelo Moore.
If you are a fan of Fishbone, I know you’ll dig this episode. If you do know them, but aren’t a fan, I have a feeling you may change your mind. And finally if you aren’t familiar with them, sit down, press play, and enjoy.
Also check out Fishbone’s website and the website for Everyday Sunshine. They both may be coming to your town soon, and the film is definitely coming to your DVD player.
In conclusion, FIIIIIIIIIIIIIISHBONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. I love you, Fishbone.

Great radio segment, man! Just as a sidenote, Kendall’s last name is Jones not Gill. Kendall Gill was in the NBA.
Thanks for posting this segment. It’s always joy to hear something Fishbone. I became a hardcore fan at the age of nine, and I’ve been going strong ever since (I’m 28 now).
As a sidenote, the White Trombone Girl is Elizabeth Lea. She currently plays trombone in Weapon of Choice, which is a fellow NutMeg Funk band I highly recommend.
She was in Fishbone right after Walt and Spacey left, and I think they were calling themselves Fishbone Familyhood at that point. Her nickname was Trombonita.
And here we thought the Ernie Isley episode was the shit… HA!
OH SHOOT! I really screwed that up. Damn! I’m sorry to both of them. DANGIT!
Thanks for that. I couldn’t find her name anywhere.
i like the doc and your program too…i was on fishbone crew for many years and have many stories…i was one who played toss the trombone with Chris
YOU WERE ON THE OFF STAGE SIDE OF THE TROMBONE TOSS??? WOW! I’d love to hear some of those stories. If you don’t mind, I’ll hit you up. I love how this is reaching so many cool people.
Wenddog! If you ever toured with them when they went to Brixton Academy around ‘91, then I saw your trombone tossing work. It was the most amazing thing I’d ever seen at a gig.
Wow, these guys just rock!!!
Great podcast ! I will listen to this episode over and over until I finally see the damn movie !
The movie is great! It’ll be well worth the wait. And thanks for your support.
